MODCo Creative 11th Anniversary Party at Paul Kasmin Gallery
For this year's Cinco de Mayo, I headed to the Paul Kasmin Gallery where MODCo was throwing a party to celebrate their 11th year creating stellar logos and ad campaigns for brands such as Vera Wang and the new Kim Kardashian fragrance. The scene was very festive with an LA style taco truck parked outside and "Spice of Life" cocktails being enjoyed inside. A giant mural showcasing MODCo's achievements was displayed next to pop-y paintings of soldiers, roosters, and superheros by Nyoman Masriadi. One inspired picture of a demon with wings greeted guest Michael MacNeal who's personal style was decidedly more influenced by Jesus Christ than the dark side. Another fashionista on hand was designer Malcolm Harris who took in the hipster crowd that centered around MODCo's tattooed founder Sara Rotman. She is the polo playing punk rocker responsible for the instantly recognizable Tory Burch logo. Three cheers for great design, Mexican celebrations, and anniversaries of any kind!
