SummerTramp party, Los Angeles
Today marks the official start of summer and it's time to find relief from the heat, especially if you find yourself stuck in an urban jungle without an out-of-town invite for the weekend. Edgy urban pool parties have popped up in recent years all over the country including Brooklyn's infamous dumpster pool parties. On the Left Coast, I checked out a mixed but predominantly boys crowd at a downtown Los Angeles daytime party called SummerTramp. Entrenched in a warehouse district, the wet and sometimes wild party sits on an astro-turfed parking lot the last Sunday of each summer month. Complete with water slide, water guns, and an above ground pool, this party guarantees a rollicking good time. Libations, DJ'd music and a taco truck complete the scene which is a mix of downtown hipsters and L.A.'s gay fabulous.
